1. Introduction
Welcome to FoodPic ("we", "our", "us"). We take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use the FoodPic mobile application.
By using FoodPic, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account: Email address, display name (if signing in with Google)
- Profile & Onboarding: Age, weight, height, gender, activity level, health goals
- Food Photos: Images of meals you photograph for analysis
- Meal Diary: Logged meals, portions, and nutritional entries
2.2 Automatically Collected
- Usage Data: Features used, screens visited, session duration
- Device Info: Device type, operating system version, app version
- Analytics: Anonymized usage patterns, crash reports
2.3 What We Do NOT Collect

4. Third-Party Services
4.1 Google Firebase
Used for authentication, database (Firestore), cloud storage (Firebase Storage), and analytics. Firebase may collect authentication tokens and device identifiers.
4.2 Google Gemini AI
Powers our food recognition and nutritional analysis. Food photos and meal descriptions are processed by Gemini. We use the API under terms that prevent your data from being used to train Google's public models.
4.3 Firebase Analytics
Provides anonymized usage statistics to help us improve the app.
4.4 RevenueCat
Manages in-app subscriptions. RevenueCat does not have access to your payment details — those are handled directly by Apple or Google.
4.5 Superwall
Used to display subscription paywalls. May collect device identifiers and usage events.
5. Data Security
Storage
All data is stored on Google Cloud Platform servers. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit using industry-standard SSL/TLS encryption.
Access Controls
- Firestore security rules ensure users can only access their own data
- Only authorized team members can access backend systems
- All food photos stored in Firebase Storage are access-controlled per user
6. Data Retention
- Active accounts: Data retained while your account is active
- Deleted accounts: Personal data deleted within 30 days of deletion request
- Food photos: Stored until you delete the entry or your account
- Analytics: Anonymized data may be retained indefinitely
- Legal: Some data may be retained longer if required by applicable law
7. Your Rights & Controls
Access
You can view all your logged data directly in the FoodPic app at any time.
Correction
Edit or delete individual meal entries at any time within the app diary.
Account Deletion
Two ways to delete your account and all data:
- In the app: Profile → Settings → Delete Account
- On this website: Request deletion here
We will delete your account and all associated data within 30 days of your request and send a confirmation to your email.
8. Children's Privacy
FoodPic is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us at admin@viga.app and we will delete it immediately.
9. International Users
GDPR (EU/EEA Users)
If you are located in the European Union or EEA, you have the following rights:
- Right to access your personal data
- Right to rectification of inaccurate data
- Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")

10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will:

- Send a notification in the app
- Email registered users if the changes are material
Continued use of FoodPic after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
